We just had a wonderful dinner at Bistro du Midi. The food was uncommonly delicious. There were flavors in the dishes which were uncommon, remarkable and amazing. The staff was attentive, engaging and informative. Roland, our server, was especially fantastic. He really made the experience special. We were "celebrating" a really nice day at the end of Summer where we just wanted to be out, in the city, people watching, having great food and enjoying each other and this was a great place to do all of that. We're already scheduled to go back for the Trimbach event on Sept. 10th!

I recently took a trip to Europe and one of our stops was Marseille France. I was so sad and disappointed that I did not truly get to eat much of the delicious French food. The stop in france was only for a few hours and we only saw a few museums and taste a few things before having to go to our next destination. Tonight we made up for it. My friend and I went to Bistro du Midi @Public Gardens and had their chef's tasting. Plate after plate was presented like a work of art and explained to us in detail. I could not finish my last 3 courses because I was getting so full. Everything was fresh and flavorful - from seasonal grilled watermelon with fluke to perfectly cooked wagu beef was delicious. Highly recommended! Everything you see in the pictures came to a shocking price tag of $150 per person which was a steal!

I went here for dine out boston and did the $55 pp 3-course dinner. I started with the arugula salad and really loved it. It came with the freshest ingredients and such a good variety of little fruits and vegetables chopped up in there. My main was the tortellini and it was very small but so so delicious. The portion size worked out well as part of the 3 course meal but it would not have been enough food otherwise. Lastly I finished the night with the crème brûlée as my dessert. That was quite good as well, and a rather large portion. I sat upstairs which they describe as a more upscale experience than the downstairs part of the restaurant. Our table was by a window that was overlooking the boston common which was cool. I didn't love my raspberry lime Rickey cocktail, but because I loved everything else, this is a five star experience for me.

There are two things that always are so blatantly apparent when you experience them. When you have bad service, you know it, don't have to think about it. When you have great service you know it, don't have to think about it. It's the mediocre service that goes unnoticed, as it should. Bistro du Midi is a place where it's blatantly obvious when you are there.... Their service is great. Always seek great service. It makes you feel special. It makes your loved one feel special. Great service is special and not easy to provide consistently. My experience tonight was great. Thanks so much.

We were there recently to celebrate my birthday. The food was excellent- we especially love the Bouillabaisse. Our waiter was attentive and made us feel welcome. We appreciate the birthday chocolate soufflé and the complimentary digestif drinks. The Bistro was relatively busy on a theatre night but noise level is reasonable. We will definitely come back.

Excellent food and great service! We came here for a last minute date night and they were happy to accommodate our table. My Fiance and I wanted to share an app and a main, and we were happy to pick off the same dish but they took the time to separate the portion into two beautifully styled plates for us. It's the little things!

The filet mignon was excellent, but actually the cheaper hanger steak of the steak frites was the star of the show! The truffle fries and truffle mashed potatoes were excellent, along with the chocolate soufflé. Beautiful patio with gorgeous begonias. Our server, Juan, was very attentive. Highly recommend. Update- we loved it so much the first time that we came back. This time we both ordered the burger. It was fine. The fries weren't the same delicious truffle fries that came with the steak frites and our waiter hardly ever came around. After we finished and they cleared our plates it probably took him around twenty minutes to stop by again. He didn't even have a check with him. I guess it is hit and miss.

Finally got to dine out at Bistro du Midi, and was pleasantly surprised at how great their prix fixe menu was! I ordered the beef tartare, chicken with risotto, and banana hazelnut torte, and my partner ordered their french onion soup, steak frites, and creme brulee! Everything was quite impressive, and not too overly heavy considering it was a full course. Service was very timely and friendly, and ambience was good! A perfect spot for a date night or family dinner! I would definitely come back!

This is a lovely restaurant across for the Boston Public gardens. We had reservations for Sunday brunch to celebrate my friend's birthday. We sat upstairs, which was a lovely room, busy but not too crowded, airy with a nice view. (downstairs was noisy and busy so glad we weren't placed there.) We sat at tables along the window which were a little close together. It made it easy for us to drool over the next table's order (and ask them what they had, which they cheerily answered). I'm not sure why we didn't hear every word they said, they were that close. The service was superb. Wait staff were available whenever we needed them to take our order, fill our water glasses or clear our plates. Every encounter ended with a "thank you" or "my pleasure." My only mild complaint was I asked for more maple syrup for my pancakes and by the time the waiter brought it around I'd eaten as much as I wanted so didn't need it. As for the food, it was delicious and beautifully plated. One of us had an egg white omelette which came with a lovely salad. Another had the salmon eggs benedict which she enjoyed; her only comment was that she ordered more hollandaise sauce and for some reason the extra order was salty, more so than what came with the original order. I had the ricotta pancakes topped with almonds and figs, hold the coconut. I found the pancakes to be a bit dense which may be normal for ricotta pancakes but I'm used to fluffy pancakes so maybe wasn't the right order for me. I ordered a side of pork sausage links which were the tastiest I can ever remember having at a restaurant. We ordered a creme brulee to share and it came beautifully plated, with a written birthday wish for my friend. Delicious too. This is a lovely, classy restaurant (but not stuffy), on the pricey side which one would expect given the location. I will definitely go back.
